King-Lake Street Precinct will provide an active and vibrant mix of land uses, building on the already well established retail and commercial uses of this central city area. Kings Square will be the heart of the precinct, with significant public spaces and a two-way traffic connection between King Street and Lake Street. A mixture of retail and dining opportunities will reinforce an active link between the city centre and the entertainment hub of Northbridge.
New east/west laneways and arcades will provide attractive, interesting and safe environments for pedestrians movement to and from the train station and surrounding destinations. The streets will be activated with a mix of land uses and residential development above will bring a new population to the city centre.
