Registrations of interest are now sought for the first two development sites of The Link. These lots offer enormous potential and are supported by established infrastructure and amenities including direct access to the freeway, public transport systems, the Perth CBD, retail and entertainment precincts.
It is estimated the population of Western Australia will grow by up to 475,000 people in the next 10 years (Bernard Salt/KPMG). This is the fastest population growth, by percentage of State population (2.6%) in Australia (Access Economics and CBRE, Jan 2009).
This growth, combined with low vacancy rates, high demand and an increasing trend towards inner-urban living (Bernard Salt/KPMG) presents great investment potential for central Perth.
The Link is arguably the most important redevelopment project for the city, reuniting the CBD and Northbridge by sinking the rail line for the first time in 125 years.
This 13.5ha project incorporates 4.25ha of high-quality public space and will deliver:
- High-quality urban design and built form
- Increased residential opportunities, including approximately 1,650 dwellings to accommodate over 3,000 residents
- Increased retail, commercial, hospitality and entertainment opportunities, with a combined estimated floor space of 24,000sqm
- The new 14,000 seat, $335 million, multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment centre, Perth Arena
