Our approach to Urban Planning is ultimately led by our vision for a Vital Perth. This vision is based on delivering design and development excellence through great public environments, high quality buildings, connecting people with places and ensuring a successful mix of land use and activity.
Our Redevelopment Scheme and associated Policies and Design Guidelines ensure sustainability, innovation and high quality outcomes. We work with our development applicants and industry experts to achieve the best outcome for each place.
Some of the planning outcomes we pursue include green building design, housing diversity and affordability, transit oriented development, heritage conservation and adaptive reuse, land use diversity, and active streets and laneways.
We also recognise that good governance is an essential part of delivering sustainable redevelopment. This is why we consult with local governments (City of Perth, Town of Vincent) and other State agencies (Heritage Council WA, Department of Culture and the Arts, Department of Housing, Department for Planning and Infrastructure) to facilitate development that is also consistent with their aims for Perth.
We are active members of such groups as the Place Leaders Association, Green Building Council of Australia, Planning Institute of Australia and the Urban Development Institute of Australia. Networking and information-sharing with our industry peers further supports our drive to create high quality urban places.
