EPRA Development (Planning) Approval is a legal document that gives permission for specified land use or development to occur on a particular piece of land. It includes a signed approval form, which may include conditions of how the development is to take place and associated approved plans and documents.
Do I need Development Approval?
Development Approval must be obtained from EPRA prior to any development taking place on land in EPRA's Redevelopment Area. This is done by lodging a Development Application (DA) with EPRA.
Development Approval is required for all new buildings, structures and construction, alterations and extensions. Development Approval is also required when changing the use of a building, signage, or any works to heritage places.
Some minor works and activities are not defined as ‘development’ and therefore do not require Development Approval prior to undertaking works. Refer to the East Perth Redevelopment Regulations for more information, or contact EPRA Planning on (08) 9222 8000.
It is the responsibility of the developer/land owner submitting the DA to check if other State or local government permits are required for your proposal, such as Building Licences, signage permits or health approvals.
Submit a Development Application.
