Fixing the Mix - Interface Management for New Urban Communities was a half day seminar held in Perth on Friday 18th of March for professionals in the urban design, development, planning and architecture sectors.
Its theme was Interface Management, a critical emerging planning and design discipline as our cities become increasingly urbanised. Nowhere is this more evident than in the large inner-urban or fringe-CBD redevelopment projects such as the East Perth Redevelopment, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore redevelopment, Melbourne's massive Docklands redevelopment and Brisbane's South Bank. |
These new urban communities bring with them pressures as new residents seek to co-exist with existing commercial, retail, entertainment and (in some instances) port or light industrial businesses.
