Planning
Through redevelopment, EPRA's Planning team aims to create sustainable, vibrant and high quality urban environments. This is achieved through the implementation of EPRA's Scheme and Design Guidelines and the assessment of development proposals.
EPRA's Planning team performs a variety of key functions including, but not limited to:
- Redevelopment Scheme preparations and amendments
- Planning policy and Design Guideline preparations and amendments
- Preliminary consultation and advice on development related matters
- Assessment of development proposals, including signage
- Applications for changes of land use
- Home Occupation approvals
- Undertaking development audits and compliance investigations
- Obtaining preliminary subdivision approvals for EPRA-owned land
- Providing comments on subdivisions and amalgamations of land to the Western Australian Planning Commission
- Provide advice on all Town Planning related matters
- Provision of Section Planning certificates for Liquor Licensing
- Preferred and potential land use advice (similar to zoning advice)
Planning control within the redevelopment area is the responsibility of the redevelopment authority. This means the powers of the Metropolitan Region Scheme and local government town planning schemes are revoked and the East Perth Redevelopment Scheme applies.
